THE CHALLENGE
In a good-neighbor effort our Customer wants to shield nearby residents from their natural gas compressor station noise in rural PA.
Our Customer enlisted Sound Fighter® Systems (SFS) to engineer and produce a sound wall to mitigate the unwanted noise emanating from some very large processing equipment on their site.
Their Objectives Were 4-Fold:
- Install a sound-absorptive noise barrier sufficiently tall to effectively minimize unwanted noise to nearby residents.
- Install sound barriers with the high acoustic performance necessary to mitigate the target frequencies emanating from their compressor engines and coolers
- Install sound absorption panels that would be visually acceptable to the local community.
- Incorporate acoustic man-doors and vehicle gates into the barrier.
Natural Gas Compressor Station Noise Pollution
Under the guidance of their Acoustical Engineer, the Customer decided to install a 20-ft tall barrier, and selected Sound Fighter® Systems to design and build it using their SonaGuard® sound absorptive panels.
The final design included multiple man-doors as well as 20’W x 20’T vehicle swing gates.
