SHREVEPORT, LA – In an ongoing effort to broaden and diversify its product line, Sound Fighter® Systems, has announced the introduction of the Sound Fighter RetroSorb® absorptive (NRC) retrofit system.
“Although the majority of our business and focus remains on the noise barriers segment, our customers frequently seek treatments for existing reflective (concrete) structures.” says Murray Stacy, VP of Sound Fighter Systems, “The issues associated with unwanted reflected noise are well-known and documented. Our new Sound Fighter RetroSorb® product allows our customers to retrofit any such reflective structure with a highly sound-absorptive system that eliminates the issues of reflected sound.”
Common applications for absorptive retrofit treatments include:
- Concrete DOT sound walls
- Concrete blast walls
- Tilt-wall concrete building structures
- Other structures made of sound reflecting materials.
The Sound Fighter RetroSorb® system offers an industry-leading 1.10 NRC for flush-mounted applications, and 1.20 NRC for offset-mounted applications – targeting a wide range of frequencies.
Weighing-in at less than 4 lbs per sq/ft, the lightweight Sound Fighter RetroSorb® system can be attached to almost any existing structure without compromise due to weight. It is offered in a variety of finishes, from simple galvanized to powder coat, pending the application and customer preference.
“There are countless existing barriers and structures made from reflective materials such as concrete. Many erected before the ramifications of reflective noise were fully understood.
Now we have an incredibly-effective system available to eliminate reflected noise issues without having to replace the structure altogether.” concludes Stacy.
